The 4×4 black box,
built for corrugations.

A rugged, plug-and-play OBD2 logger for touring rigs. Records every trip to onboard SD, then syncs over 4G when you’re back in range — no phone, no fleet pricing.

The device

A purpose-built tracker for people who actually go bush.

Fleet products cost a fortune. Hobby kits fall apart on corrugations. Phone apps drain your battery and miss half the trip. Go Traverse is designed for the drivers those options overlook.

  • Real engine data

Coolant and transmission temps, RPM, fault codes — straight from the CAN bus. The numbers that matter when you're towing, 300 km from the nearest mechanic.

  • Trip-grade GPS

1–5 Hz position fixes with 3–10 m accuracy. Every track, every detour, every river crossing — logged, with your phone in your pocket.

  • Your data, on your SD card

Everything is written locally first, in an open format you can read yourself. If our servers vanished tomorrow, you'd lose the live map — not your data.

  • 4G with SIM included

Nationwide 4G connectivity built into your subscription — no BYO SIM, no carrier setup. Cloud sync rolls out to founding customers first after launch.

  • Track conditions, recorded

The onboard motion sensor captures corrugations, rough sections and river crossings — see what the track did to your rig.

  • Built for the conditions

Designed to survive corrugations, dust, heat and water — not a fleet office in a sedan.

How it works

Plug it in. Drive away. Review the trip.

  1. 01 ——

    Plug into OBD2

The device connects to your vehicle's standard OBD2 port. Powered by the vehicle, hidden under the dash.

  2. 02 ——

    Drive — we log everything

Engine data, position and motion are timestamped and written to the onboard SD card on every trip.

  3. 03 ——

    Sync over 4G

When coverage returns, trips upload to your cloud account. Cloud sync reaches founding customers first in a rolling release after launch — SD and WiFi work from day one.

  4. 04 ——

    Review on the web

Open the dashboard from any browser. See routes on a map, review engine temps, export your logs.

FAQ

Questions, answered honestly.

When can I actually buy one?

The V1 launch is targeted for early 2027, after field validation in real vehicles. Waitlist members get first access — the founding batch is intentionally small and serial-numbered.

How much will it cost?

We're targeting around AUD $350 for the device, with a low monthly subscription that includes the 4G SIM and cloud platform. A free tier is planned, with paid plans for more trip history and features. Final pricing will be confirmed closer to launch.

Do I need to bring my own SIM card?

No. We don't think "go buy a SIM, activate it, configure it, hope it works" is acceptable. Devices ship pre-tested against our cloud — plug it into your OBD2 port and drive.

What happens when there's no mobile signal?

Everything keeps recording to the onboard SD card. When you're back in coverage, the device syncs the missed trips to your account. The SD card is also user-readable in a clean format — you can pull it out and read your data directly.

What happens to my data if Go Traverse disappears?

You keep it. Every trip is written to your SD card first, in an open format you can read without us. If our servers vanished tomorrow, you'd lose the live map and cloud history — not your data. We think that's how connected devices should work.

Will it fit my vehicle?

If your 4×4 has a standard OBD2 port (most vehicles from ~2006 onwards in Australia), it will physically plug in. Specific CAN/OBD2 PID coverage will be published per make/model as we test through 2026.

Is this a fleet/tracking product?

No. Go Traverse is built for recreational drivers — touring, overlanding, weekend trips and caravan setups. It's not a fleet management tool, and it's not priced like one.

Who's behind it?

An Australian engineer building exactly the device they wanted to use themselves — independent and self-funded, focused on deliberate, small-batch hardware done properly.
